ABP 2026: What the Industry Needs to Know

The ABP 2026 Guide takes effect January 1st, introducing significant changes to repair pricing across the automotive industry. Labour rates increase across the board, with standard labour rising to £83.28/hour and specialist prestige work at £103.06/hour.

A major structural shift replaces traditional appraisal and research charges with a single Assessment Compilation Fee of £176.96 per job, now encompassing method research, ADAS identification, and documented evidence.

Diagnostic and ADAS costs represent substantial increases. System diagnostic sweep requires 1 hour pre and 1 hour post, while first ADAS calibration costs £312.30, with subsequent calibrations at £156.15 each.

Electric vehicle operations show modest increases, with full recharge services at £52.05 and power-down/reinstate procedures consuming 3 hours. These changes will reshape how insurers, accident management companies, solicitors, and repairers approach claim estimation and negotiation throughout 2026.
